Business and community leaders across Georgia celebrated the Second Annual Healthy Georgia Awards at the College Football Hall of Fame on October 3rd. Setting an exciting backdrop for the night, the field was transformed into an active auditorium outfitted by Falcons and Hawks mascots with cheerleaders in tow, bleachers for viewing along with healthy food and beverage samplings from generous sponsors. Created by Roy Neill, Director of External Affairs for Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and hosted by the Lieutenant Governor, Georgia Shape and the Georgia Department of Public Health, nine awards were presented to organizations, companies and school districts who have all exemplified astounding efforts to encourage youth health and wellness in the state. Ronnel Blackmon kept the energy up throughout the entire evening and Madison James led an inspiring and informative panel discussion on “Building Wellness Ecosystems in Georgia Communities.”
